A NEN1010-delivery inspection is a series of Dutch safety regulations for low voltage installations used by the electronic installation sector.
NEN-norms aren’t laws but agreements, practical guidelines that are made for and by the market. These agreements include the minimum safety requirements that low voltage installations in the housing construction, utility construction and industry need to comply to. The copyright stays with NEN.
Field of application
The norm is applicable on technical installations of:
- houses and offices
- constructions designated for the (health)care sector
- constructions and grounds designated for public and industrial purposes
- rooms and grounds designated for agriculture, stock/ cattle breeding or greenery
- prefabricated constructions/buildings
- caravans, lodging accommodations and designated grounds
- construction sites, exhibition sites, fairs and other temporary installations
- marinas
- outdoor lighting
- recharging locations for electrical vehicles
- etcetera
Legal status
NEN-norms are no general binding prescriptions. Use of the NEN1010 is recommended , by the law.
Application of the NEN1010 is therefore not obligatory. The ministry of VROM declares this explicitly. It is, however, obligatory to prove that the same level of security is achieved with possible ‘other’ solutions.
